NANMMA introduces courses for youth and adults interested in learning the basics of Islam and conversational Arabic. The cohorts are structured to take courses either in English or Malayalam according to the student’s preference.

Overview

The courses customized for North American audiences are offered throughout the year and are based on the curriculum prepared by the Council for Islamic Education and Research (CIER). The classes are provided by professional teachers in well known educational institutions in the Middle East.

The youth program covers:

1. Lessons in Qur’an
   • Qur’an Recitation
   • Qur’an Memorization
   • Interpretation of Qur’an
2. Conversational Arabic
   • Students learn how to speak in Arabic
3. Islamic Traditions
   • Life of Prophet Muhammed (SAW) and the Companions
   • Life of the Prophets in Qur’an
4. Islamic Jurisprudence
   1. Hadith
   2. Prayers
   3. Fiqh

The program for adults covers

1. Lessons in Qur’an
2. Conversational Arabic

To start with the program, each student must go through an assessment before being placed in the appropriate cohort.

Students age 5 and up have the opportunity to have classes in the morning or evening during weekdays or weekends.

Launch on September 12, 2020

Alhamdulillah, we are all set to start NANMMA Online Islamic Studies for Youths and Adults, and are very excited to launch the program officially on September 12, 2020, Saturday at 12 PM EST. The assessments of the students and the formation of the cohorts were completed a week ago. We are blessed to have two great scholars from our community, Sheikh Ahmad Kutty from Toronto and Muhammed Kamal from Dallas, and they will be keynote speakers at the event.

Please note that we are planning an open house following the speeches, and it will be an excellent opportunity for the parents to clarify (if anything) from the teachers and NANMMA team. We want to thank the community for all the support, and request everyone to keep us in your Duas.
