NANMMA Civic Engagement team is leading the efforts to spread the awareness on the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC)
Our recent activities include
- Dec 23 2019 – NANMMA released its statement regarding the CAA and NRC
- Dec 22 2019 – NANMMA conducted its first educational webinar on CAA and NRC last Sunday (December 22nd) evening which was attended by 100 participants from our community! Mr Ajith Sahi (Investigational journalist/Activist) provided high-level overview of this newly introduced act and its impact to Indian secularism and minorities at large . He emphasized the importance to know this new law and defend the rights of citizenship in India.
Mr. Hamza Khan from DC (US Advocacy Expert) provided an in-depth session on how these issues can be brought to the attention of elected representatives in Washington and do effective advocacy on issues which matter to us. His session focused on highlighting the importance of how to individually and collectively advocate work in the US. Newly formed NANMMA civic team has plans to do various activities and partner with other secular organizations.
