NANMMA USA procures 115 oxygen concentrators and other medical supplies for Kerala

As India battles a devastating second wave of the highly contagious covid variant, the immediate impact on the health system has been clearly visible in terms of a fast depleting stockpile of necessary medical equipment that are either unavailable or too highly priced.

NANMMA USA (North American Network of Malayalee Muslim Associations USA) geared up to the situation in an attempt to save lives and halt the upsurge. NANMMA Board of Directors successfully raised almost 1 crore Indian rupees from the Malayalee and Indian communities in USA in a very short time to procure 115 oxygen concentrators and other Covid related medical supplies for Kerala and other most requisite states.

The first shipment of 50 Oxygen Concentrators has reached KMSCL (Kerala Medical Service Corporation Limited). The second set of 65 oxygen concentrators is expected to reach Cochin within a week.

NORKA and KMSCL efficiently handled the logistics of the two international shipments along with IGST exemption as per the new government order and customs clearance. NANMMA Trustee Council and Board members collaborated with Harikrishnan Namboothiri (CEO) and Ajith Kolassery (Additional Secretary) of NORKA, Dr. Dilipkumar (General Manager) and Saleem KM (Cochin warehouse manager) of KMCL, district collectors, medical associations and several government officials to help our homeland mitigate the emergency situation and save lives battling for breath.
