Season’s Greatings!

Remember when the angels said:

“O Mary! Verily, God gives you the glad tidings of a Word from Him, his name will be the Messiah Jesus, the son of Mary, held in honor in this world and in the Hereafter, and will be one of those who are near to God.”

Season’s Greetings to you and yours!

Happy Thanksgiving!

History says that the first Thanksgiving happened when the Pilgrims organized a celebratory feast and invited a group of Native Americans, after their first corn harvest. The Pilgrims, seeking a new home where they could freely practice their faith, reached the American shore after a treacherous and uncomfortable crossing that lasted 66 days. Malnutrition and illness weakened them. It was the Native Americans who taught the Pilgrims how to cultivate corn, extract sap from maple trees, catch fish in the rivers and avoid poisonous plants.

On this Thanksgiving, let’s thank all those who helped us to settle down when we arrived with just two suitcases. It could be a friend, relative, or colleague.

Happy Thanksgiving!

AMMAN – Hurricane Harvey Help Fund

Tropical Storm Harvey strengthened into a hurricane over the Gulf of Mexico last week and made landfall northeast of Corpus Christi, TX. It was a Category 4 hurricane with winds of 130 miles per hour. The affected area includes some of Texas’ most populous cities, stretching along the state’s Gulf Coast from Corpus Christi to Houston, and inland to Austin and San Antonio. Parts of Louisiana are also expecting heavy rain.

Some of our own AMMAN members are affected, family members are stranded, and some of us are working tirelessly in the forefront to help them affected and the victims.
